Before invisible-in-canal (IIC) hearing aids, completely-in-canal (CIC) hearings were the smallest custom hearing aids available. They are designed and sculpted to fit almost entirely inside your ear canal (external auditory meatus) and are therefore almost invisible, with only the faceplate and battery drawer usually visible. Extraction cords are usually fitted to CIC hearing aids to help insert and remove them from the ear.
Completely in the Canal hearing aids (CIC) are smaller custom hearing aids. These hearing aids are best suitable for people who are more particular about cosmetic appeal and look. Because of being smaller in size, there is no option of keeping physical volume control in these hearing aids. However, modern digital CIC hearing aids manufactured by companies like Starkey Hearing Technology, Signia, Widex, Sonova group, Phonak, etc can be connected through smart phone and thus changing the volume through app or accessory like remote, etc can be done easily and hassle free. Currently none of the manufacture makes a rechargeable CIC. For patient ordering a CIC, please note that it takes a time of 5-7 days in making any custom hearing aids as these are made as per the patient ear impression which we send from Ahmedabad to manufacturer office which are located in Delhi/Mumbai/Bangalore.
